2.5cupsself-rising flour + extra for dusting the board
1.5cupGreek yogurt
1teaspoonsalt
2tablespoonbuttermelted
1-2clovesgarlicminced
2tablespoonfresh cilantro (coriander)chopped
oil or butter for frying
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, Greek yogurt, and salt.
Mix with a spoon until the dough starts to come together, then use your hands to knead it into a smooth ball. If the dough feels too sticky, add a little extra flour, one tablespoon at a time.
Cover and let the dough rest for about 10 minutes.
Roll Out the Naan
Lightly flour a clean surface and divide the dough into 6-8 equal portions.
Using a rolling pin, roll each portion into an oval or round shape, about ¼-inch thick.
Cook the Naan
Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan with oil or butter over medium-high heat.
Once hot, place a rolled-out naan onto the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until bubbles start to form and the bottom develops golden brown spots.
Flip and cook the other side for another minute.
Repeat with the remaining dough.
Garlic Butter Topping
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
(Alternatively, melt butter in the microwave by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl (like a ramekin) and heating it in 10-second intervals, stirring between each interval until fully melted.)
Stir in the minced garlic. (If using a saucepan, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.)
Remove from heat and mix in the chopped cilantro (coriander).
Brush the warm naan with the garlic butter mixture before serving.
